MySQL的奇怪问题

MySQL : 5.1.22-rc
FreeBSD : 7.0 release

有个表 (MyISAM) 420M大小，内有一mediumtext字段，占据了大部分的空间。
把这个字段删掉之后表大小变成1.1G了。囧死了~~。谁能告诉我这个是怎么回事。-_-~
